Elizabeth Swinnburne is a British
artist who currently lives and works in Amsterdam.
She is a highly respected educator and artist whose
career spans almost 20 years. In September 2000 she
moved to the Netherlands to take up the position of
Co-ordinator of Glass at the Rietveld Academy a position
which she occupied until restructuring at the Academie,
in 2003, resulted in closure of the department. Over
the last eighteen years she has held key academic
posts in the UK. Before leaving Britain she was Senior
Tutor for glass at the Royal College of Art, London.
From 1998 - 2003 she was the Artistic and Technical
director of North Lands Creative Glass, Scotland.
She has been an active artist since graduation in
1983. Her work has been exhibited throughout Europe,
the United States, South America and Japan. It is
represented in major international collections including
V&A, London; Kunstmuseum, Dusseldorf; Hokkaido
Museum, Japan; and the Museum of Applied Arts, Prague..
